The award-winning, xxxx-story Classroom Building at Los Altos High School spans 44,000 square feet, including an open-air interior corridor space with a roof. Certified LEED Silver, the facility consists of 23 classroom spaces, several flexible spaces, and a teacher collaboration room. State-of-the-art features include a culinary arts classroom and a fully functioning kitchen.
The structural design includes special steel concentric frames with CastConnex HSC brace connectors and metal stud wall framing. A horizontal truss roof diaphragm was utilized to address daylighting openings throughout corridors.
