The PG&E Headquarters project in San Francisco involved a renovation of two floors of a 34-story building. Floor 8 and Floor 27 are each 21,265 square feet and the remodel included new meeting rooms, offices, a dining area, quiet spaces, and lounge areas with views of the San Francisco Bay.
In addition to the Headquarters renovation, ZFA has provided structural engineering services to refresh multiple PG&E California Service Centers, including locations in Oakland, San Francisco (three sites), San Luis Obispo, Salinas, and San Jose. The existing building modifications involved interior non-bearing partition walls, slab trenching, locker anchorage, wall-hung cabinets and sinks, and ceiling-hung equipment. Services have also included evaluation and strengthening of existing roof framing to support new air conditioning units, as well as seismic anchorage of new equipment, sprinkler systems, and nonstructural framing.
ZFA has also provided assessments and evaluations of code-required seismic upgrades related to the removal of load bearing walls, addition of new MEP equipment, and updated architectural programming at multiple locations to assist in establishing project scope and budgets.
